Little Mix se formó con motivo de The X Factor luego de que sus cuatro integrantes fueran rechazadas como solistas. Originalmente, el grupo se llamaba Rhythmix, pero debido a que ya había una organización caritativa con el mismo nombre, fue cambiado a Little Mix. No fue hasta julio de 2011 que Little Mix lanzó «Wings», su primer sencillo propio. Rápidamente, la canción debutó en el número de las listas del Reino Unido e Irlanda, dando al cuarteto su segundo número uno en ambos territorios Los dos sencillos posteriores, «DNA» y «Change Your Life», no les dieron más reconocimiento internacional, pero sí dos top 15 más en las listas británicas e irlandesas
